Mix vegetables handvo

Mix vegetables handvo is a traditional gujarati savory cake, which is a nutritious meal in its own right. Handvo is an all-time favorite snack — perfect for anytime, teatime, brunch or dinner. Savory inside with a Sesame Seed crust on top will give you delicious taste of savory cake ever.

Ingredients

  • For fermenting handvo flour :
  • Handvo flour – 2 Cup
  • Crushed ginger-garlic paste – 2 TBS
  • Butter milk – 2 Cup
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Turmeric powder – 1 TSP
  • Seasoning for handvo :
  • Graded bottle guard – 1 & ½ Cup
  • Mix vegetables – 1 Cup
  • Coriander and cumin powder – 1 TBS
  • Garam masala – ½ TBS
  • Red chili powder – 1 TBS or as per you need
  • Sugar – ½ TBS
  • For tadka :
  • Oil – 3 TBS + 2-3 TSP while making handvo in pan
  • Mustard seeds _ 1 TSP
  • Cumin seeds – 1 TBS
  • Sesame seeds – 1 TSP + Top of the handvo Each time spreading handvo batter in pan
  • Dry whole red chilies – 2
  • Bay leaves – 2small
  • Asafetida – ½ TSP

Method

  • For fermenting handvo flour :
  • Mix all the ingredients together mention in fermenting section before 7 to 8 hours of making it and keep it in warm place to help to fermented nicely.
  • For seasoning handvo batter :
  • After your handvo batter is fermented and you about to make handvo, add all the ingredients mention in seasoning part and mix well.
  • Now give tadka to our batter.
  • For that add oil into small vessel and add all the ingredients to it as mention in tadka part of ingredients.
  • Let them splutter for a while and then add it to handvo batter and mix well.
  • Now take one pan about 8 inches long and drizzle some oil on it and add some sesame seeds to it.
  • When its start to creaking, pour handvo batter to it and spread it evenly about 1inch thick.
  • You can keep thickness of handvo as per your desire.
  • Cook that handvo on each side for 5minutes with covered pan.
  • Add some oil on other side also when you flip handvo.
  • Serve it hot with tea, curd or raita.
